FOYER 11X13

A closeup of the mantel shows the exquisite detailing that greets your guests as they enter your home.

Imagine a welcoming gas burning fire in the fireplace as you open the door.  Step onto the hand painted diagonals on the floor and catch your refection in the mirrored wall before you.  Turn to your left and slide back the oak pocket door to enter the living room.

LIVING ROOM 13X17.5

The focal point of the living room is the mirror that stands 8' tall from it's perch on an rounded oak pedestal.  The large picture window bathes the room with soft northern light and offers a vista of the beauty outdoors. Oak floors and trim are consistent thoughout the first and second floors while the casing corner blocks, in an unusual fleur de lis pattern, extend to the third floor.

DINING ROOM 11X19

A crystal chandelier adds sparkle to the table setting and rich brown walls great an intimate ambiance.

A gas burning fireplace with oak mantel and dazzling mirror
mosaic surround and hearth graces the bay of the dining
room.

BUTLER'S PANTRY

The butler's pantry blends dining room to kitchen and provides fabulous storage for dinnerware.  The very top shelves are great for special holiday serving items and the drawers are perfect for dish towels and napkins.  The counter offers a space for cookbooks, display, or just a great spot to drop your purse and keys. The doors below open to two shelves ideal for pie plates, muffin tins, and cake pans.

The other side of the panty serves nicely as a message center.  A small window seems to make it "a room in itself."

KITCHEN

A Frenchy seven light chandelier illuminates a 3'x5' island which provides counter dining for four as well as a terrific work space.  The refrigerator is discretely tucked behind double doors.  The oak floor and the custom finish walls blend beautifully with the mottled laminate counters.

A wall to wall shelf on the north wall adds decorative potential to a series of doorways.  The door on the left leads to the basement.  The middle doors conceal the refrigerator and the doorway on the right leads to the stairs and the front of the house as well as one of two ways into the dining room.

BACK PORCH 15.5X10

The porch off the kitchen is well lit with windows dressed in micro mini blinds on three sides.  The floor is 6"x6" terra cotta tiles and the walls are cedar.  An elevated area in the northwest corner allows for headroom to the basement but also provides counterspace for plants or a buffet when hosting a barbeque.

SECOND FLOOR

An oak paneled wall flanks the open staircase as it begins to ascend.  Your attention is quickly captured by the the stained glass window that casts it's glow from it's position between floors.  The striking design was customized locally and installed about 15 years ago.  The original stained glass had been removed prior to the current owners occupancy.

BEDROOM 11X13

Who could resist sitting in the bay and taking in all of Hartford Street from such a vantage point?  What a lovely room for reflection.  The subtle toile covered walls give depth to the room and coordinate with the sheers and window cushion.  The verse that cloaks the room, "The dream is always running ahead, to catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that is the Miracle." is a wonderful reminder to be in the present.  A pocket door connects this room to the master bedroom so it is a short trip from such calm to a peaceful night's sleep.

BEDROOM 13X18

What gets your attention first in this room?  The lovely paired windows on one side or the wall to wall and floor to ceiling closets on the other?  Or is it the spectacular hand rubbed, baby soft finish of the coral walls?

The two middle doors open to reveal shelving and what is now home to a computer, printer, scanner and bulletin board.  Closing the doors and the electronics disappear!

BEDROOM 12X19

Another spacious room full of possibilities.  The original mantel and beautiful glazed tiles anchor the bay in this room.  Although nonfunctional, the fireplace continues to add charm to this turn of the century home.  Seats over the radiators offer another perch as you take in Spring Avenue to the North and South.

Although this room is large, the amber colored walls bring warmth and coziness and a desire to curl up with a novel or rewatch your favorite movie.

BATHROOM 7.5X7

The first of two full baths on the second floor offers a pedestal sink and the cutest of double windows centered over a marbelized ledge that provides beauty as well as function.

A spacious shower with shower seat completes this
bath and the petite radiator warms your towel while
you shower.

BATHROOM 11X6.5

The second bathroom boasts a clawfoot tub, a chandelier, and an amoire that holds the sink basin and towel storage.  If that's not enough, it also has access to the balcony at the back of the house. The medicine chest over the tub and the sconces are original to the house.

THIRD FLOOR BEDROOM 14X11.4

This room on the 3rd floor has a southern facing dormer window with window seat.  (Big enough to sleep on, well maybe not if you are 6' tall.)  A closet and a storage area provide perfect storage for seasonal items.

BEDROOM 16X16

Two dormers provide ample light for the third floor bedroom on the north side of the house.  Another window seat seems perfect for a cozy reading nook.  This room also has a closet.

A walk in closet between the two bedrooms provides an abundance of addition storage.  (CLOSET 8.5X6.5)

A large dry basement offers many possibilites:  Exercise room, storage, playroom, or tool room and workspace.

The following pictures give you a glimpse of the seasonal beauty that surrounds this lovely home.  Although not all are pictured here, you will be delighted with tulips, daylilies, hydrangas, peonies, azalyas, and irises.  The flowering trees include pear, pink and white dogwood, and red bud.
